此诗是清顺治十年（1653年）作者应清廷征召，北上至临清（今属山东）遇大雪时所作。此诗写路途的难行与寒冷，用以表现诗人被迫入京时的悲凉心情。

关山虽胜路难堪，才上征鞍又解骖。
十丈黄尘千尺雪，可知俱不似江南。
