You asked me about the Dragon Boat Festival in your last letter. Now I want to tell you something about it.
The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. The festival is to remember Qu Yuan, a great poet in ancient China. He loved his country very much and jumped into the river to die for it. People wanted to save him, so they rowed boats on the river and threw zongzi into the water to feed the fish.
Now, we still keep the traditions. On that day, families usually make zongzi together. Zongzi is made of rice and wrapped in bamboo leaves. Many places also hold dragon boat races. It's very exciting to watch the races.
