英语作文中状语的位置相当重要，不仅仅是语法的正确问题，还有表达上的效果要注意：
1. 英语中先说地点状语，后说时间状语。如：
I saw the film in Shanghai last summer. 我去年夏天在上海看过这部电影。
The meeting will be held in Beijing tomorrow. 会议明天在北京举行。
2. 无论是说地点还是时间，应先说小单位，后说大单位。如：
We will start at seven tomorrow. 我们明天早晨7点出发。
Li Ming was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu, on the first of May, 1980. 李明1980年5月1日生于江苏南京。
3. 除了时间状语外，如果还有方式状语，其位置应为：方式副词 + 地点副词 + 时间副词。如：
I went to work by bike in Beijing last year. 去年在北京我经常骑自行车上班。
We talked happily at his home yesterday evening. 我们昨晚在他家中愉快地交谈。
4. 为了强调，有时可以把状语放在句首。如(www.zkenglish.com)：
With the help of his teacher, he worked out the problem. 在老师的帮助下，他算出了这道题。
Under her care the patients recovered quickly. 在她的照料下，病人恢复得很快。
